What Is Chiropractic?

Doctor Exlplains Test ResultsThis question tends to have different answers depending on who you ask.  In my opinion this is one of the greatest strengths of my beloved profession.

It is a strength, because it reveals the rich diversity that exists amongst chiropractors.  This diversity has created fertile ground for the development of a wide variety of incredibly effective and innovative healing techniques.  Some of these techniques now form the basis for methods used by other professions.  Each of these techniques allows individual practitioners to be able to fulfill their own highest professional calling in ways that are most effective and satisfying for themselves and their patients.  My vision is to provide an opportunity for a variety of individual practitioners to do their own special work in the Optimal Health Centre Braddon. Therefore I hope you will take a few moments to learn from each of them on this site.

One of the unifying influences upon the profession is worldwide standards for education providing for a core syllabus being taught throughout the world[1].  Central to chiropractic is a focus on the importance of the nervous system to health and well-being as well as the ability of problems in the spine to interfere with the proper functioning of the nervous system and thereby lead us away from a state of optimal health.

I hope the following links will help you to learn more about some of the fundamental ideas, concepts behind a profession that is now “the largest drugless & non-surgical healing profession in the world”[2].

There is an animated 4 minute video called The Big Idea that explains how chiropractic works on our homepage: http://optimalhealthcanberra.com.au
